IBRE-LEACH: Improving the Performance of the BRE-LEACH for Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless sensor networks are extensively used in different fields, including severe and harsh environments such as battlegrounds, volcanic areas, healthcare, so on. The major constraint of WSNs is the limited power supply, which impacts lifecycle entire network. Clustering a performing method to optimize consumption extend lifetime WSNs. LEACH considered first classical clustering protocol energy consumption. Many protocols have been developed enhance conventional protocol. BRE-LEACH (Balanced Residual Energy LEACH) one them. It performance In this paper, we propose new improved called IBRE-LEACH (Improved Balanced LEACH), improves approach. combines multi-hop techniques. selects CHs according residual limits maximum number nodes each cluster balance Thus, allows Abandoned Nodes send their data BS. Furthermore, it routes gathered using CHs, ANs, root node, node with minimum distance simulation results MATLAB show that increases throughput, optimizes consumption, extends network lifetime, ameliorates stability by 81.99%, 94.33%, 91.47% compared BRE-LEACH, LEACH-C, LEACH, respectively.
